Welcome to our F.A.Q. We hope it helps you to understand more about the sewing sessions. If you don't find what you need, just get in touch using our contact page.
Generally our 1 day course run from 10am to 4pm and our evening courses run from 7pm to 9pm. However this may change depending on the class you book. Please check your confirmation for exact times.
Each Sewing Session (Sewing Class) will have a maximum of 8 people in it. We keep groups as small as possible so that we have time to talk through the techniques, with no rushing - we want you to leave with a full understanding of the techniques and retain the skills you learn.
You will be taught by a qualified teacher who has over 20 years sewing experience. Meet us at our 'sew us' page.
We prefer you to bring your own machine. We teach you on your own machine, so that when you get home you have that familiarity to get started as soon as possible.
Yes of course! We have a couple of machines which we can lend you for the Session. Please let us know via email to firstname.lastname@example.org when you book for us to reserve you one. Please note, checking availability for a machine before you book is best.
All materials are provided (unless otherwise stated) If you want to bring your own material to work with then you are more than welcome. We have some very pretty pots filled with cotton reels, scissors (small and large), needles, pins… and other useful tools to use! We also sell all the bits and bobs you need to stock your sewing box.
You will also be provided with a folder to keep all your samples in, and your handouts. This is for you to take home and use for reference so you can remember all the new skills you have learned. If you wish to make your own notes bring a notepad, we have lots of pens!
Tea & Coffee are provided… along with a few biscuits of course!
Currently we are not wheelchair accessible, as our classes are held in a studio in our garden which has several steps down to it, with toilets on the 1st floor.
Parking is on street parking. Please be mindfull of keeping our neighbours driveways clear and enabling easy access for them. If Rock Lane is busy then please park on Rodley Lane or Leeds/Bradford Road to avoid congestion.
We break for lunch for about 30 minutes. We do not provide lunch, there are shops close by but it is best to bring a packed lunch as it saves time.
